March 4th to March 8th marks a special occasion in the Lone Star State as schools across Texas gear up to celebrate Texas Public Schools Week. Sterling Fly Junior High in Crystal City, Texas, is no exception, and they are preparing for a week filled with Texan pride, unity, and celebration.

The festivities kick off on Monday with a heartfelt tribute to the Texas flag. Students will honor their state by standing tall and proud, reflecting the resilience and strength emblematic of Texas itself. Sixth graders will don the color red, representing courage and determination. Seventh graders will wear white, symbolizing purity and unity, while eighth graders will sport the color blue, embodying loyalty and perseverance.

On Tuesday, the theme "The Future is Bright in Texas" sets the tone for optimism and possibility. Sixth graders will illuminate the halls with vibrant yellow attire, signifying hope and sunshine. Seventh graders will radiate in orange, representing energy and enthusiasm, while eighth graders will shine in green, symbolizing growth and prosperity.

Wednesday is dedicated to highlighting the importance of education in Texas. Students will proudly wear shirts representing their favorite universities or colleges, underscoring the state's commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning.

Thursday celebrates all things made in Texas, from renowned companies to beloved sports teams. Students will showcase their Texas pride by donning attire featuring local brands or representing their favorite Texas sports teams, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

Finally, Friday culminates in a display of authentic Texas pride with Western attire. Students will embrace the state's rich cultural heritage by donning cowboy boots, hats, and other Western wear, embodying the spirit of resilience, independence, and tradition that defines Texas.
