Crystal City Cross Country Teams Run at Dilley Invitational

CCHS Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams run a strong race to prepare for the upcoming District Meet at the Dilley Invitational Meet Saturday, September 30, 2017.   The boys team placed 2nd while the girls placed 3rd.  The boys team was lead by Gabriel Magana (3rd) followed by Edward Serna (7th), Jesse Jay Ruiz (10th), Johnny Hernandez (11th), Moses Ybarra (16th), Joey Soria (17th), and Emi Contreras (19th).  The girls team was lead by Nayeli Garcia (4th) followed by Joanna Arredondo (9th), Brea Eguia (18th), Justine Morales (21st), Alize Ruvalcaba (22nd), Ileana Flores (25th), and Brittany Romero (34th).   

The Javelinas Junior Varsity Boys ran a strong race and ran their way to a 1st place team finish.  The team was lead by Christian Tafoya(5th), followed by Rene Ramirez (6th), Kevin Mendoza (8th), Zachary Faz (9th), and Virgil Luna (11th).

The 7th grade girls placed 2nd as a team.  The Lady Mustangs team was lead by Meghan Huerta who ran an impressive race and ran a personal best time of 13.18.  Coming in 2nd place was Reyna Martinez who also ran a strong race.  Helping the team were Miranda Alvarado, Relyla Rios, Elyanna Ramirez, Lilly Gallegos, Rochelle Huerta, and Chelsea Delgado.

In the 8th grade girls division the Lady Mustangs were lead by Madison Acosta who placed 3rd followed by Gabriella Roiz (11th), and Kiki Roiz (13th) who medaled.

The 7th grade boys ran a strong race and placed 1st as a team.  The boys were lead by Norbie Garcia (1st) who continues running exceptional races.  The following boys helped bring home the Dilley Championship Title Kristian Alcozer (5th), Joseph Cisneros (9th), Eric Ruiz (10th), Brian Mendoza (13th), and Nathaniel Hernandez (14th).

The 8th grade boys continue to win 1st place as a team.  Leading the team was John Acosta (3rd), followed by Nathan Aguilar (4th), Matthew Puente (7th), Jonas Tapia (8th), Christopher Alvarado (11th), and Jeremy Granados.

A special thanks to all the parents, relatives and friends who continue to support our student athletes throughout the Cross Country season.  Thank you to our devoted mangers for all their hard work Giselle Garcia and Alex Cruz. 

The next Cross Country Meet for CCHS is in Bandera, Texas on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 4:00PM. 

We would like to invite everyone to our 29-4AAAA District Cross Country Meet in Lytle, Texas on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.  Races for high school are in the morning starting at 9:00AM and in the afternoon for junior high at 4:00PM.
