March 4th to March 8th marks a special occasion in the Lone Star State as schools across Texas gear up to celebrate Texas Public Schools Week. Sterling Fly Junior High in Crystal City, Texas, is no exception, and they are preparing for a week filled with Texan pride, unity, and celebration.

An exciting opportunity called GeoForce, offered by the University of Texas. GeoForce allows 8th graders to explore the field of geology at no cost. Students attended a GeoForce presentation, and if they are interested, they can now apply for the program through a link provided on Google Classroom. The program is an excellent chance for students to develop their scientific interests and may lead to a lifelong passion for geology.
